January 29 The COLD winter!Winter has been the biggest change in moving to Kansas. Katie comments regularly that the snow is great, but the cold is not so fun. I don't even have to explain that unfortunately they come together... We are learning to adapt and overcome, I guess. Maybe we are just dressing warmer!
Katie is doing great in school. Allie and I are settling in to our time together and really enjoying it. She's actually pretty good company for a two year old.
We had a wonderful Christmas. My family came and spent a few days with us and then we went to Missouri for the New Year. It has been wonderful being just a couple hour's drive from family. I know when we move this summer that we will deeply miss that luxury.
Chris had surgery to repair his shoulder injury, caused by his jaw surgery. I think he can finally close that chapter of his life... at least when he finishes his physical therapy. He has received the greatest care from an amazing physician. We really have been blessed to 'be at the right place at the right time.'
I need to take from the example of my cousin, who is so good to keep us all updated, and make a point to let everyone know what is going on with us. I will work on that this year. We'll see if I can follow through with that. |
